Weller irons and tools for WX 1 / WX 2 / WT 1 / WT 1H / WT 2M power units

There are two ways to purchase a soldering station: you can choose a complete set or you can pick a set appropriate for your needs. WX and WT power units can operate various iron with suitable power.
Weller WT power units (and most of the others - please ask) automatically recognize and regulate soldering irons and tools, if only they are powerful enough. Below you will find Weller soldering irons and their descriptions.
Afterwards you should pick a suitable power unit in the tool/power unit table. In case of problems, please contact us - we shall help you pick a set suitable to your needs.

All Weller tools described below and all power units are ESD-safe. Please note: WX... series irons can be used with WX power units only. Tools are also available in sets containing tool and appropriate tool stand. We recommend WDC 2 or WDC dry cleaner and Tip-activator.

WXP 200

WXP 200 iron (WX power unit necessary).
WXP 200 was introduced as a successor of WSP 150 iron. The power has been increased to 200W. It is suitable for heavy soldering jobs, whenever the size and thermal capacity of the details soldered allow no compromises. Due to large thermal mass of the heater and the tip, temperature stability is high. Heat-up time is fast. It solders, where other soldering irons fail - suitable for large radiators, connectors etc. Like all WX irons it is equipped with movement sensor. The setback and standby functions are activated automatically, after the tool has been replaced in the stand. Power unit lowers the temperature and then switches off the tool after a user-defined time has elapsed. Another feature of WX iron is a built-in memory. It stores process parameters. Connecting the iron to another power unit does not change process parameters. Please use XHT tips.

WXP 120

120 W

WXP 120 iron (WX power unit necessary).
WXP 120 (120W) iron has a short tip barrel and small handle. It is extremely powerful for its size - 120W! Therefore it allows to perform jobs demanding precision and high power at the same time. High power allows to solder quicly, heat transfer is superb, the tip never cools down - even while soldering components with large thermal mass. The iron heats up extremely fast, temperature stability is unsurpassed. Weller's XT tips are especially designed to decrease reaction time and increase performance. They precisely fit to the heater, the temperature sensor is as close to the solder joint as possible. It is equipped with movement sensor. WTP 90

90 W

WTP 90 iron
WTP 90 iron is very precise. Smaller and more precise than WP 80, which has been usually chosen by demanding professionals in the past. It is suitable for precision work as well as standard soldering. Jobs under the microscope are possible, the iron is stable. There is a powerful heater built into the small handle. It grants enough power to solder large joints and assures stable temperature during quick, succesive soldering of many points. There are two methods to change the tip. The tip can be removed and replaced with the new one - the standard way - or it can be instantly removed together with the heater and replaced with the new set. XNT tips are even more precise than LT tips.

WP 80

WP 80 iron
WP 80 iron has a very short tip barrel and small handle. The distance between the tip and the handle is only 40mm. Precision soldering jobs are easier with such tool. Iron is held like a pencil. Jobs under the microscope are possible, the iron is stable. There is a powerful heater built into the small handle. It grants enough power to solder large joints and assures stable temperature during quick, succesive soldering of many points. Weller LT tips are inexpensive, yet allow for high thermal dynamics due to the very low thermal mass.

Best iron for standard jobs (demanding high precision as well) - we recommend it for proffesional use.

WXP 80

WXP 80 iron (WX power unit necessary).
Parameters like WP 80 above. Like all WX irons it is equipped with movement sensor. The setback and standby functions are activated automatically, after the tool has been replaced in the stand. WXP 65 iron, like WP80, has a very short tip barrel and small handle. It is a compromise between WXP 120, which offers huge power, and WXMP iron with fastest reaction time. It is precise and heats up quickly. XNT tips are inexpensive and small. Like all WX irons it is equipped with movement sensor. The setback and standby functions are activated automatically, after the tool has been replaced in the stand. Power unit lowers the temperature and then switches off the tool after a user-defined time has elapsed. Another feature of WX iron is a built-in memory. It stores process parameters. WXMP iron (WX power unit necessary).
WXMP iron uses active tips - tips contain heater and temperature sensor. It allows the tips to be as small as possible, at the same time heating time is minimized. RT tips heat up in less than 4s. Heat transfer is maximized. Tips are easily exchangeable. Iron is equipped with movement sensor. The setback and standby functions are activated automatically, after the tool has been replaced in the stand. WMRP iron
Parameters like WXMP above, no movement sensor and no built-in memory. Please use RT tips. WMRP has a magnetic switch. Replacing the tool in the stand switches it off, thus prolonging tip lifetime.

WXMT desoldering tweezers (WX power unit necessary).
WXMT quicly desolders small SMD passives. It is small and precise. Like in WXMP iron above, RTW tips are active - they have a built-in heater and temperature sensor. Tips are easily exchangeable. WSP 150

WSP 150 iron
Powerful, large iron with massive tips. It was the largest Weller iron, now replaced with 200W tools. It stays in production as an ecomony model. It is suitable for heavy soldering jobs, whenever the size and thermal capacity of the details soldered allow no compromises. Due to large thermal mass of the heater and the tip, temperature stability is high. Heat-up time is fast. Tool for thermal insulation stripping. There are stripping knifes for AWG 12, 14, 16, 18, 22, 24, 26, cables and flat stripes up to 23mm wide with 1,27mm pitch.

WHP 80 preheating plate
Small preheating plate. Plate dimensions 80x50mm. Preheating is recommended (whenever possible) before performing soldering/desoldering jobs. It reduces heat demand and makes the rework easier, faster and safer. If the prheaters mentioned here are too small, plese have a look here - we offer large preheaters as well.
